These tonics contain ingredients, from apple cider vinegar to carrots, for instance, that will pump up a person's metabolism and help her get to a healthy weight, without restoring to fad diets or dangerous weight loss strategies.

Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Pour one tbsp. raw apple cider vinegar into a large glass or mug.
  • Add eight ounces of water and two tbsp. honey to the glass.
  • Stir the ingredients with a spoon and drink. The apple cider vinegar is a weight loss tool, while the honey will help sweeten the taste.

Apple Carrot Cucumber Tonic

  • Peel and rinse eight large carrots, two large apples and one large cucumber. Cut the apple and cucumber into quarters with a sharp knife.
  • Place the vegetables into the fruit juicer. Place a large glass under the juicer's spout to catch the juice.
  • Stir the juice that is created and add one tbsp. honey before drinking.
